Roomba 4210 Discovery

iRobot Roomba 4210 Discovery only lasts ~20 minutes before battery goes dead? I have the Roomba 4210 Discovery Vacuum. After it has charged for several days on the dock, I let it clean, and after about 20 minutes, it starts going dead and goes back to the dock. How long should these things last? What’s wrong with it? Are the news ones better than the one I have? The one I have is one of the first ones that came out I believe… It’s the 4210 model. Should I buy the new ones?
I got 2 points for this answer replied: "How long have you had it. Sounds like the battery is not holding the charge. I have the 415 and have no problem with the charge yet. If you have had it under a year I would call the manufacture they should probably replace the battery."
New iRobot Roomba 4210 Discovery battery won’t charge!? The iRobot is about two years old and I replaced the battery. This is the second new battery I purchased (new not referb.). They come charged and I run the Roomba until it dies and then put it back on the base. After that the power light flashes red without ever recharging.
Any clues?

iRobot Roomba what’s the difference and which is the best? I am unsure which product would be better and exactly what the difference are in plain terms now……….
Is one an older brand?

If it helps I have hard floor with a few rugs.
Someguy replied: "The 4210 aka Discovery or any model that begins with 4 is the older generation. I have a Discovery and it works well, but the newer 5-series (models 510, 530, 560, 570) is just out and will work better with rugs with tassels because it will untangle itself automatically, among other improvements like five times the life span, which I think might be the best improvement — the new series is better put together, with less holes for dusts to gather. The best model now is the 570, but the 560 has almost everything including the new "Lighthouse" accessory which tells the robot to stay in a room until it’s been cleaned then move on to the next, and onboard scheduling which lets you program it to run on certain days then recharge all by itself.
In any case I recommend models with at least a Home Base so the Roomba will automatically go recharge itself after each cleaning. For the older series, the Discover and Scheduler models have one, and for the new series models 530 and above have one.

Engineers are more into the theoretical and the math.
I think that if you post this same question under consumer electronics you will get a lot of responses. Your question is well stated and includes plenty of details. Engineers are more into the theoretical and the math.
Good Luck"
Roomba Vacuum Question?? Hi, I wanted to ask about a roomba I saw on eBay. It is new, but was remanufactured. Is this a bad idea to purchase a roomba like that? Here is the link:
ctleng76 replied: "In my experience devices that have been remanufactured are never 100% operational. I have experienced this with many different types of devices. I do not own a Roomba, and it may be that Roomba has very strict quality controls within their remanufacturing department. Even still, I always pay the extra money for a new unit. You will get a better warranty and the peace of mind knowing that if it is defective it will be fixed or replaced.
Check around the net and see if there are any sites providing reviews of refurbed Roombas. That is where you will find the true story.
If you are still thinking about buying it, contact iRobot and see what their warranty (if there is one) covers on a refurbed unit."
what is roomba 4130? buy.com has this model on sale. the picture it shows looks like "scheduler". however current scheduler is 4230 and is much more expensive. there isn’t model 4130 at roomba’s own web site at all. so what model is it? is it an out-dated model? what are the differences between it and newer models (e.g. 4210 discovery)?
